From Outrage to Action: A Call for Volunteers

Based on the overwhelming response to our February 5th meeting with immigration attorney Glenn Formica to learn about the work of The American Immigrant Law Clinic (TAILC), the Guilford Peace Alliance now invites community members serious about volunteering with TAILC to a follow up meeting at the Guilford Library Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 6:30 to 8 pm.

TAILC is a special project of the CT Immigrant Support Network as hosted by Connecticut Students for a Dream. They work to provide legal support and expand access to representation for individuals detained by ICE.

After attorney Formica, interim legal director of TAILC, describes the hands-on work volunteers can do, we will divide into break out groups to connect people with direct action, each group led by members of the TAILC support team.

  • Examples of the kinds of help most needed include:
  • Social workers and other mental health workers
  • Faith leaders and affiliates
  • Physicians, Nurses, and other medical workers
  • Multi-language speakers, especially French, Portuguese and Creole (Haitian)
  • Other hands-on work people are ready to offer, including fund raising

Bring your questions plus a pad and pen to take notes.

Due to space limitations, it is imperative that we know if you plan to join us. Should more than 100 people sign up—as folks did for our February 5th gathering with attorney Formica—we may have to secure a different location.

Please respond by February 19 by clicking on the blue RSVP button below.
